Our catchment area
Free Legal Information and Advice
The Centre provides free legal information and telephone and face-to-face advice to people living in the Hawkesbury, Nepean and Hills areas of NSW. Advice is provided on a range of legal issues, including:
- Debt matters
- Discrimination Law (complainants only)
- Employment Law (employees only)
- Motor Vehicle Accidents
- Victims Compensation

- Consumer Complaints
- Driving Offences
- Fines
- Neighbourhood Disputes
|
- Complaints against Government Departments
- Domestic Violence and Apprehended Violence Orders (women only)
- Family Law (including de facto and same-sex relationships)
- Powers of Attorney and Guardianship Orders

We also assist community and social workers seeking advice and appointments for their clients. This service is available at any time, subject to the availability of a solicitor.
Face-to-face Advice
Face-to-face family law advice is available at the Centre on Wednesday evenings, by appointment only. Please contact the Centre on 02 4587 8877 to make an appointment.

Legal advice is available during our twice-weekly telephone advice sessions. Please contact the Centre on 02 4587 8877 :
Mondays: 1:30pm - 4:00pm
Thursdays: 9:30am - 12 noon
Casework
The Centre is able to provide casework and legal representation in limited circumstances.
Areas of law we cannot advise on
While we are able to provide advice in many areas of law, there are some that we cannot advise on. These areas of law include:
- Business and Commercial Transactions
- Conveyancing
- Immigration Law

- Serious Criminal Matters

- Drafting Wills or making applications for Probate
- Men seeking information or advice about Apprehended Violence Orders
- Reviewing documents including divorce papers
